Launched in early 2021 with an investment exceeding 4 billion CNY, this state-of-the-art Center for Disease Control was designed and built to meet rigorous international standards.

Key Facilities

  • BSL-3 Laboratory – advanced biological protection for high-risk pathogen research.
  • International-Standard Laboratory – fully compliant with global testing and research requirements.
  • Three-Story Disease-Control Building – integrated with a comprehensive disease-control system.
  • Three-Story Health-Training Center – accommodates training programs for up to 400 participants.
  • Two-Story Administrative Building – supporting efficient management and operations.

Significance

This landmark collaboration between Myanmar and China enhances regional capacity for rapid response to public-health emergencies, including emerging infectious diseases such as COVID-19.
